Improve local security
The jv16 PowerTools contains very advanced local security settings.
If you are running the program in a hostile environment then
you should take the following steps to increase the security
- Only install the jv16 PowerTools on NT based system (NT4/Win2000/XP).
- Only install the jv16 PowerTools on a NTFS partition.
- Protect the \jv16 PowerTools\Users\.data file so it cannot
be removed or modified.
- Protect the \jv16 PowerTools\Settings\SecurityID.dat
so it cannot be removed or modified.
If you wish to disable any changes to the configuration of jv16
PowerTools you can protect the program's all files and directories
except the \temp directory. If you wish also to protect it you
can modify the settings.dat and make the program to use the
system's temp directory.
